Radiator Grille Opening Panel Reinforcement









Removal and Installation

1. NOTE: Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) only.

Remove the air induction bolts and position aside.





2. Remove the front impact severity sensor. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System Front Impact Severity Sensor.

3. Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to Bumpers Service and Repair.

4. Remove the headlamps. For additional information, refer to Exterior Lighting Service and Repair.

5. Release the hood latch cable and conduit from the radiator grill opening panel reinforcement locators.

6. Remove the coolant reservoir bolts and position aside.





7. Remove the hood latch bolts and position the hood latch aside.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).





8. Disconnect the horn and the A/C switch connectors at the lower front passengers side of the vehicle.

9. Release the wiring harness retainers from the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement.





10. Remove the pin-type retainers from the left and right air deflectors-to-radiator grille opening panel reinforcement and remove the air deflectors.

11. Remove the pin-type retainers from the front bumper cover mounting bracket-to-radiator grille opening panel reinforcement.





12. Remove the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement-to-bumper beam bolts.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).





13. Remove the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement-to-front structure bolts (3 each side).
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).





14. With help from an assistant to prevent damaging the wiring harness, remove the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement from the vehicle.

15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
