This article supersedes TSB 10-10-3 to update the Service Procedure.

ISSUE
Some 2008-2011 Focus vehicles may exhibit a squeak/creak noise from the underbody when driving on rough roads. The noise may be caused by contact between the park brake cables and the routing eyelets.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. For vehicles built 1/11/2010 - 04/19/2010 replace the parking brake cable assembly per Workshop Manual, Section 206-05. Continue to step 2.





2. Install a protective sleeve over each of the parking brake cables and inside the routing eyelets. Secure the sleeves with locally obtained tie straps. (Figure 1)

a. Do not spiral wrap the protective sleeve around the cable. The split in the sleeve should be on the top side of the cable.
