Fuel Tank

Fuel Tank Assembly
Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Jacking and Lifting Vehicle Lifting.
2. Release the fuel system pressure. REFER to Fuel System Pressure Release .
3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. REFER to Battery Disconnect .
4. Drain the fuel tank. REFER to Fuel Tank Draining .
5. Remove the 5 nuts and position fuel tank heat shield aside.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
6. Disconnect the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) tube assembly-to-fuel tank tube quick connect coupling and the fuel tank jumper tube-to- FP (Fuel Pump) assembly quick connect coupling. REFER to Quick Connect Coupling - Type 1 .
7. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank quick connect coupling and the vapor tube assembly-to- EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister quick connect coupling. REFER to Quick Connect Coupling - Type 1 .
8. Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank.
9. Position the Powertrain Lift under the fuel tank.
10. Remove the 3 fuel tank strap bolts.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
11. Partially lower the fuel tank for access.
12. Disconnect the FTP (Fuel Tank Pressure) sensor electrical connector.
13. Disconnect the FP (Fuel Pump) module electrical connector.
14. Lower the fuel tank.
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
