Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Indicator

Removal

1. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Ignition must remain OFF until repair is complete. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.

Turn the ignition off and wait at least one minute.

2. Pull up and remove the shifter bezel.

3. Pull up and separate the hand brake bezel.

4. Remove the screw, pull out and remove the console LH (Left Hand) upper side trim panel.

5. Remove the screw cover above the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) controls.

6. Remove the 2 instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly screws, pull out at the top and separate the instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly.

7. Remove the 3 instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly screws, disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly.

8. Squeeze the tabs in at the sides and remove the PAD (Passenger Air Bag Deactivation) indicator.

Installation

1. Position the PAD (Passenger Air Bag Deactivation) indicator into the instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly and engage the tabs.

2. Position the instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly, connect the electrical connectors and install the 3 instrument panel lower center finish panel assembly screws.

3. Position the instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly, push in seating the retaining clips and install the 2 instrument panel upper center finish panel assembly screws.

4. Install the screw cover above the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) controls.

5. Position the console LH (Left Hand) upper side trim panel and install the screw.

6. Install the hand brake bezel.

7. Install the shifter bezel.
