Stabilizer Bar

Removal
NOTICE: Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Jacking and Lifting Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the stabilizer bar in the sequence shown.
1. Remove and discard both stabilizer bar link lower nuts.
2. Remove and discard the 4 stabilizer bar bushing bracket bolts remove the stabilizer bar bushing brackets and the stabilizer bar.
3. Inspect and, if necessary, install new stabilizer bar bushings.
Installation
1. NOTICE: Do not use any lubrication on the stabilizer bar or the bushings or damage to the bushings may occur.
NOTICE: To prevent bushing damage and incorrect stabilizer bar operation, the stabilizer bar bushings must be located correctly on the stabilizer bar. The protrusion on both bushings must be facing the LH (Left Hand) side of the vehicle for correct installation.
If necessary, install the bushings onto the stabilizer bar.
2. NOTE: Apply water to the brackets to aid in installation.
NOTE: Assemble the stabilizer bar brackets and clamps with the off-set flange facing outboard.
Position the stabilizer bar bushing brackets.
3. Install the stabilizer in the sequence shown.
1. Position the stabilizer bar links to the stabilizer bar and install 2 new stabilizer bar lower link nuts.
- Tighten to 110 Nm (81 lb-ft).
2. Install 4 new stabilizer bar bushing bracket bolts.
- Tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).
