DESCRIPTION:

The fuel cut-off relay is supplied battery voltage by fuse #13, and grounded by an ECM driver when in deceleration mode. The ECM senses a deceleration condition from the TPS (idle switch closed) and the engine rpm signal (engine speed above 2300 rpm). When the relay is open, the fuel cut-off solenoid is de-energized and fuel flow is decreased. Code 42 is set if the voltage in the driver circuit remains "high" when commanded "low."
