Inspection
Shaft seal assembly should not be reused. Always use a new shaft seal kit when reassembling the compressor. Be extremely careful to ensure that the face of the shaft to which the shaft seal is to be installed is not scratched or damaged in any way. Make sure the seal seat and shaft seal are free of dirt which could damage the shaft seal surface.

Installation

2. Apply clean compressor oil to the new shaft seal and the drive shaft. If the slip faces are dirty, clean them with thinner. After drying the cleaned face, apply clean compressor oil to slip faces.

Shaft Seal Installation:

4. Fit the new O-ring to the groove inside of the compressor neck.
5. Apply clean compressor oil to the seal seat.
