Refer to Fig. 185, when performing the following procedure.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove horn pad from steering wheel.
3. Remove steering wheel to shaft nut, then using puller tool No. J-1859-03, remove steering wheel.
4. Remove steering cowl, then disconnect combination switch and starter switch electrical connectors.
5. Remove steering column attaching bolts at lower part of instrument panel and pedal bracket.
6. Remove steering universal joint 2nd attaching bolt, then remove steering column assembly.
7. Remove glove box, then remove radio bracket.
8. Disconnect radio electrical connectors and antenna cable.
9. Remove ashtray, then remove heater control lever knob.
10. Remove heater control panel attaching screws.
11. Remove meter hood attaching screws, then remove meter hood.
12. Disconnect wiper switch and lighting switch connectors.
13. Remove meter attaching screws, then pull meter rearward and disconnect electrical connectors.
14. Remove speedometer cable holder.
15. Remove fuse block attaching screws, then disconnect electrical connector from instrument panel to chassis, Fig. 186.
16. Disconnect heater control cable and electrical connectors.
17. Remove instrument panel screw covers, then remove instrument panel attaching screws.
18. Remove air duct to instrument panel attaching screws.
19. Pulling instrument panel rearward, disconnect clock and speaker connectors, and remove rheostat knob.
20. Remove rheostat assembly, clock assembly and speakers from instrument panel.
21. Reverse procedure to install.
