Steering Column - Dissemble & Assemble

Refer to Fig. 116. when servicing this steering column.

1. Remove turn signal switch, then insert key into ignition and move to the On position. Lock bar should be pulled all the way in as key is turned.
2. Remove the steering shaft snap ring and rubber cushion.
3. Remove lock assembly to steering column attaching screws, then remove the lock arm.
4. Pull shaft from column.
5. Inspect for worn or damaged parts and replace as necessary.
6. Reverse procedure to assemble noting the following:
a. Turn the ignition lock to the On position when installing.
b. Ensure snap ring is seated securely.
