Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Description and Operation
The KF 100 automatic transaxle is a compact type unit where the transmission and differential are integral and use the same type lubricant (Dexron II). Power is transferred from the output gear through the ring gear to the idler gear.
The output gear, idler gear and differential gear case are supported by tapered roller bearings. The preload on the roller bearings can be adjusted by using shims.
The final gear is a helical type design requiring no tooth contact adjustment.
