Shift Linkage: Adjustments
Park Lock Cable
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove floor console assembly.
3. Place shift control lever in Park, then turn ignition switch to Lock position.
4. Loosen upper and lower nuts securing cable to floor bracket.
5. Pull cable forward at shifter bracket and tighten forward nut until it makes contact with bracket.
6. Tighten rear nut until it makes contact with bracket.
7. Tighten both nuts.
8. Install console assembly and connect negative battery cable.

Shift Control Cable
1. Loosen nuts on control link, then place transaxle manual lever into Neutral detent.
2. Place shift control lever in Neutral position.
3. Rotate link assembly clockwise to remove slack in shift cable.
4. While holding link, tighten rear adjusting nut Fig. 2, until it just contacts link.
5. Tighten front adjusting nut until it just contacts link, then tighten both adjusting nuts.
6. Ensure when selector lever is shifted from Park through D1, a clicking can be felt at each shift position. Ensure the gear selected corresponds to that indicated by the gear selection plate.
7. Ensure lever can be shifted between Drive and Neutral without depressing the shifter button.
8. If the shift lever can be shifted from Drive to Reverse without depressing the shifter button or if the button is loose, adjust by loosening the locknut and twisting the selector lever knob.
