System Diagnosis - A/C Condenser Fan
1. Turn ignition switch to On position and press A/C switch. If condenser fan operates, system is functioning properly.2. If fan does not operate, connect a suitable test lamp from fan connector cavity 2 to ground. If lamp does not light, proceed to step 4.
3. If test lamp lights, disconnect fan connector and connect a suitable digital ohmmeter from cavity 1 to ground and measure resistance. If resistance is greater than .3 ohms, repair black wire between fan and ground G104. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, replace condenser fan.
4. Backprobe condenser fan relay connector with test lamp from cavity 4 to ground. If lamp lights, repair open in blue/black wire between fan and fan relay.
5. If lamp does not light, backprobe fan relay connector with test lamp from cavity 2 to ground. If test lamp lights, proceed to step 7.
6. If test lamp does not light, backprobe A/C clutch relay connector with test lamp from cavity 2 to ground. If lamp lights, repair open in red wire between clutch relay and fan relay. If lamp does not light, repair open in red wire between clutch relay and fusible link box.
7. Backprobe fan relay connector with test lamp from cavity 1 to ground. If lamp does not light proceed to step 9.
8. If lamp lights, disconnect fan relay connector and connect an ohmmeter from cavity 3 to ground and measure resistance. If resistance is greater than .3 ohms, repair black wire between fan relay and ground G104. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, replace condenser fan relay.
9. Backprobe clutch relay connector with test lamp from cavity 4 to ground. If lamp lights, repair open in black/white wire between clutch relay and fan relay.
10. If lamp does not light, backprobe clutch relay connector with test lamp from cavity 1 to ground. If lamp does not light, proceed to step 13.
11. If lamp lights, disconnect A/C amplifier connector and connect jumper wire from amplifier connector cavity 7 to ground, then backprobe clutch relay with test lamp from cavity 4 to ground. If test lamp lights, problem is in A/C amplifier.
12. Remove jumper wire, then disconnect clutch relay connector and connect an ohmmeter from clutch relay connector cavity 3 to amplifier connector cavity 7 and measure resistance. If resistance is greater than .3 ohms, repair open in pink wire between clutch relay and amplifier. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, replace A/C clutch relay.
13. Backprobe dual pressure switch connector with test lamp from cavity 1 to ground. If lamp lights, repair open in yellow wire between dual pressure switch and clutch relay.
14. If lamp does not light, backprobe dual pressure switch connector with test lamp from cavity 2 to ground. If lamp lights, replace dual pressure switch.
15. If lamp does not light, backprobe connector C111 with test lamp from cavity 3 to ground. If lamp lights, repair open in light green wire between connector C111 and dual pressure switch. If lamp does not light, repair open in black/white wire between connector C111 and junction block.
