SUBJECT:
LOOSE/MISSING VP CLUSTER SWITCH KNOBS (REPLACE KNOBS)

MODELS:
1989-91 GEO METRO

CONDITION:
Some owners may experience breakage of knobs on some instrument panel switches.

CORRECTION:
Replacement switch knob kits have been released for the above application to allow service of the switch knobs independently from the switch assemblies. Switch knobs should be replaced using an approved adhesive using procedures listed below:

1. Use a chloroprene rubber bonding agent such as GM P/N (U.S. 12345097 and Canada 12345532) or equivalent adhesive meeting specification MMM-A-1671A type.





2. Apply a thin coat of adhesive to both surfaces of the knob and switch slider as show in Illustration.

NOTE:
Be careful not to apply an excessive amount of adhesive.

3. Let dry 1 to 2 minutes.

4. Carefully assemble the knob to the switch slider and check for proper operation of the switch assembly.
