Fig. 23 Installing Rubber Seals:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove drive belt, water pump pulley, crankshaft pulley, timing belt outside cover, timing belt and timing belt tensioner.
4. Remove water pump mounting bolts and nuts, and water pump.
5. Install water pump on engine block.
6. Install rubber seals between water pump and oil pump, and between water pump and cylinder head, Fig. 23.
7. Install timing belt tensioner, timing belt, timing belt outside cover, crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley and drive belt.
8. Tighten drive belt so it deflects .25-.35 inch on span between water pump pulley and crankshaft pulley.
9. Install valve cover and air cleaner.
10. Fill cooling system.
11. Connect battery ground cable.
