Disabling the SIR System

1. Ensure front wheels are pointed straight ahead.
2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position.
3. Remove IGN and CIG and RADIO fuse from junction block No. 1.
4. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and disconnect yellow 2-way electrical connector at base of steering column.
5. On models with passenger's air bag, open glove box door and gently pry off passenger's inflator module connector retainer.
6. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and disconnect yellow 2-way connector from passenger's inflator module.
7. Wait at least 10 minutes before proceeding with diagnosis or service.
