Fuel Pump: Service and Repair



REMOVE

1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Drain fuel tank.
3. Rear seat cushion.

Fuel Tank Floor Service Hole Cover:






4. Four screws and floor service hole cover.
5. Fuel sender assembly electrical connector.

Fuel Sender Hose Connections:






6. One nut and fuel feed hose from sender assembly.
7. One clamp and fuel return hose from sender assembly.

Fuel Sender Removal:






8. Eight bolts and fuel sender assembly from fuel tank.

INSTALL

1. New fuel sender gasket.
2. Fuel sender assembly to fuel tank; secure with eight bolts. Tighten bolts to 4 Nm (35 in.lbs.)
3. Fuel return hose to sender assembly; secure with one clamp.
4. Fuel feed hose to sender assembly; secure with one nut. Tighten nut to 30 Nm (22 ft.lbs.)
5. Fuel sender assembly electrical connector.
6. Floor service hole cover; secure with four screws.
7. Rear seat cushion.
8. Refill fuel tank.
9. Negative battery cable.

NOTE: Turn ignition switch on and momentarily connect a jumper between DLC terminals "+B" and "FP" to pressurize the fuel system. Check for any fuel leaks.
