Replacing Fuel Tank Fuel Hoses

Remove or Disconnect

- Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to "Fuel System Pressure Relief" in this section.

- Raise and suitably support vehicle.


Fuel Hose-to-Pipe Connections:






1. Two clamps and fuel vapor hose from fuel vapor pipe.

2. Two clamps and fuel return hose from fuel return pipe.

Install or Connect

1. Fuel return hose to fuel return pipe; secure with two clamps.

2. Fuel vapor hose to fuel vapor pipe; secure with two clamps.

- Lower vehicle.

3. Negative (-) battery cable.

Tighten

- Negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb.ft.).

- Turn ignition switch to "ON" and momentarily connect a jumper between DLC terminals "+B" and "Fp" to pressurize the fuel system. Check for any fuel leaks.

Fuel Pipes

- Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to "Fuel System Pressure Relief" in this section.

1. Intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.


Air Cleaner Assembly Removal:






- Loosen air cleaner (ACL) clamp bolt and remove ACL hose from throttle body (TB).

2. Four ACL cap clips from ACL housing.

3. ACL cap and hose from engine compartment.


EVAP Hoses And Canister:






4. Two evaporative emission (EVAP) hoses from EVAP canister.

5. One bolt and EVAP canister from bracket.

6. One nut and fuel feed inlet pipe from bottom of fuel filter.

7. One clamp and fuel return hose from fuel return pipe by EVAP canister.

8. One clamp and EVAP (vapor) hose from fuel vapor pipe.

- Raise and suitably support vehicle.

9. Two clamps and fuel vapor hose from fuel vapor pipe.

10. Two clamps and fuel return hose from fuel return pipe.

11. One nut and separate fuel feed pipes.







12. Five bolts and fuel pipe protector from underbody.

13. Five clamps and fuel pipes from underbody.

Install or Connect

1. Fuel pipes to underbody; secure with five clamps.

2. Fuel pipe protector to underbody; secure with five bolts.

Tighten

- Fuel pipe protector bolts to 15 Nm (11 lb.ft.).

3. Fuel feed pipe connection; secure with one nut.

Tighten

- Fuel feed pipe connection nut to 30 Nm (22 lb.ft.).

4. Fuel return hose to fuel return pipe by fuel tank; secure with two clamps.

5. Fuel vapor hose to fuel vapor pipe by fuel tank; secure with two clamps.

- Lower vehicle.

6. EVAP (vapor) hose to fuel vapor pipe in engine compartment; secure with one clamp.

7. Fuel return hose to fuel return pipe in engine compartment; secure with two clamps.

8. Fuel feed inlet pipe to bottom of fuel filter; secure with one nut.

Tighten

- Fuel feed inlet pipe nut to 30 Nm (22 lb.ft.).

9. EVAP canister to bracket; secure with one bolt.

Tighten

- EVAP canister bracket bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb.ft.).

10. Two EVAP hoses to EVAP canister; secure with one clamp.

11. ACL cap to ACL housing; secure with four clips.

12. ACL hose to TB; secure with one clamp.

13. IAT sensor electrical connector.

14. Negative (-) battery cable.

Tighten

- Negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb.ft.).

- Turn ignition switch to "ON" and momentarily connect a jumper between DLC terminals "+B" and "Fp" to pressurize the fuel system. Check for any fuel leaks.
