Ignition Coil: Service and Repair


REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Distributor from vehicle.

Distributor Rotor Removal:






2. Distributor rotor.
3. Ignition coil dust cover and gasket from housing.

Distributor Ignition Coil Removal:






4. Two nuts and four wires from the ignition coil terminals.

Distributor Ignition Coil Removal:






5. Four screws and ignition coil from distributor housing.


INSTALL OR CONNECT

6. Ignition to distributor housing. Secure with four screws.
7. Four wires to ignition coil terminals. Secure with two nuts.

^ Make sure that wire connectors do not come in contact with signal rotor or distributor housing.
^ Tighten coil terminal nuts to 71 in.lbs. (8 Nm).

8. Ignition coil dust cover and new gasket to housing.
9. Rotor to distributor housing.
10. Distributor to vehicle.
