Removal/Installation

1. Raise and support vehicle. Place jack stand under suspension support, not suspension arms.
2. Lower vehicle, remove rear wheels, then rear drums.
3. Check hub bearing endplay using magnetic base tools Nos. J 26900-13 and J 8001, or equivalents, dial indicator. If endplay exceeds 0.020 inches replace axle hub bearing on vehicles without ABS or rear axle hub on vehicles with ABS.
4. Remove bolt attaching ABS speed sensor, if equipped.
5. Remove axle hub and rear suspension knuckle mounting bolts, then axle hub from vehicle.
6. Remove O-ring from backing plate.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
