REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Clean area around pan, then drain transmission fluid.
4. Remove oil pan and gasket, then the oil strainer.
5. Remove oil apply tube bracket attaching bolts, then the apply tube.
6. Remove oil tubes using a suitable screwdriver, then the manual detent spring.
7. Remove manual valve attaching bolts, then the manual valve assembly.
8. Remove valve body to cable bracket attaching bolt, then disconnect throttle cable.
9. Remove valve body attaching bolts, then valve body, governor, apply gasket and governor oil gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Install governor oil gasket, then the governor and governor apply gasket.
2. Hold valve body in place, then manually retain cam in downward position and slip cable end into slot.
3. Position valve body into place, then insert and finger tighten 14 attaching bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. Attaching bolt lengths (mm) are indicated in Fig. 4 .
4. Align manual valve with pin on manual valve lever, then install manual valve body.
5. Insert and finger tighten attaching bolts, then tighten to specification. Attaching bolt lengths (mm) are indicated in Fig. 5 .
6. Install detent spring, then insert and finger tighten attaching bolts. Tighten attaching bolts to specification.
7. Ensure manual lever is in contact with center of roller at tip of detent spring, then install oil tubes.
8. Install apply tube bracket, then the oil strainer.
9. Insert magnet into pan, then install oil pan with new gasket.
10. Insert oil pan attaching bolts, then tighten to specification.
11. Install drain plug with new gasket, then tighten to specification.
12. Fill transaxle to specifications, then ensure proper fluid level.
