Carpet Replacement

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides Front Seat Removal/Installation
- Rear seat, both sides Rear Seat Removal/Installation
- Dashboard center lower cover Dashboard Center Lower Cover Removal/Installation
- Kick panels, both sides Service and Repair
- B-pillar lower trims, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Pillar Areas
- Driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard undercover Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
- Center console Center Console Removal/Installation
- Steering joint cover.
2. Remove the footrest (A) by pulling it to detach the clips.
3. Remove the clips.
4. Release the fasteners (A), then pull back the carpet (B) from under the dashboard.
5. Pull out the floor wire harnesses (C) through the hole in the carpet, then remove the carpet.
6. If necessary, from back of the front carpet: Release the hooks (A) of the base (B) with a flat-tip screwdriver, and push up the projections of the holder from the base to remove the floor mat holder (C).
7. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the floor wire harnesses are routed correctly.
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the fasteners and the clips into place securely.
