Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair




Brake Booster Replacement

1. Remove the air cleaner: '07-09 models, '10-11 models Service and Repair.

2. Remove the master cylinder Service and Repair.

3. Disconnect the vacuum hose (A) from the brake booster (B).






4. Remove the brake lines (A) from the clamp (B).





5. Remove the driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation.

6. Remove the lock pin (A) and the clevis pin (B), then disconnect the clevis from the brake pedal.





7. Remove the brake booster mounting nuts (C).

8. Remove the brake booster (A) from the engine compartment.

NOTE:

- Be careful not to damage the booster surfaces and threads of the booster stud bolts.
- Be careful not to bend or damage the brake lines or other components hoses and lines.
- Use a new brake booster gasket during reassembly.





9. Install the brake booster in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Tighten all mounting hardware to the specified torque.
- Install the master cylinder after installing the brake booster Service and Repair.
- Check the brake pedal height and free play after installing the master cylinder, and adjust it Adjustments.
- Bleed the brake system Service and Repair.
