Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2703

DTC 2703:

Aircon Diag

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- These DTCs set when a common error between the climate control unit and the audio-navigation unit (open or short) is detected.
- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information How To Troubleshoot The Navigation System.
- DTC 2703 can be stored when the ignition switch is at ACCESSORY (I). When the ignition switch is in ACCESSORY (I), and the climate control is turned off, the audio-navigation unit loses communication and stores DTCs. Therefore, there is a possibility that the system is normal even though DTC 2703 is stored. Check system links Navigation System Diagnostic Mode with the engine running, and if it appears OK, the system is OK at this time. If it is NG, do the troubleshooting.

1. Clear the hard error code How To Troubleshoot The Navigation System.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

3. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.

4. Check the System Links.

Is the Aircon icon red?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector D (12P).

7. Connect audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) terminals No. 5 and No. 6, and terminals No. 5 and No. 12 with jumper wires.





8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

9. Do the climate Self-Diagnostic Function How To Troubleshoot The Climate Control System.

Are both HEAT/VENT indicator solid with the remaining icons blinking?

YES -

Replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.�

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then disconnect the jumper wire.

11. Disconnect climate control unit connector (36P).

12. Connect climate control unit connector (36P) terminals No. 3 and No. 4, and terminals No. 4 and No. 5 with jumper wires.






13. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) terminals No. 5 and No. 6, and between terminals No. 5 and No. 12.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 14.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.�

14. Disconnect the jumper wire.

15. Check for continuity between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) terminals No. 5,No. 6, and No. 12 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.�

NO -

Go to step 16.

16. Check for continuity between the terminals of audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) according to the table.









Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.�

NO -

Go to step 17.

17. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

18. Measure the voltage between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) terminals No. 5,No. 6, and No. 12 individually.





Is there less than 0.2 V?

YES -

Replace the climate control unit Climate Control Unit Removal/Installation.�

NO -

Repair a short to power in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.�
