XM radio display is blank and no station information is displayed

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.





Is there battery voltage?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit and the XM receiver.�

3. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.





Is there less than 2.0 V?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit and the XM receiver.�

4. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and body ground.





Is there less than 0.2 V?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit and the XM receiver.�

5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Measure the voltage between audio-navigation unit connector E (14P) terminal No. 2 (with navigation) or audio unit connector E (14P) terminal No. 2 (without navigation) and body ground.





Is there 10 V or more preset?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Substitute a known-good XM receiver XM Receiver Removal/Installation, and recheck. If there is now 10 V or more are present, replace the original XM receiver XM Receiver Removal/Installation.�

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

8. Measure the voltage between audio-navigation unit connector E (14P) terminal No. 2 (with navigation) or audio unit connector E (14P) terminal No. 2 (without navigation) and body ground.





Is there less than 2 V?

YES -

Go to step 9.

NO -

- With navigation: Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit ('07-09 models) Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation or audio-navigation unit ('10 model) Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck. If there is now 0.5 V or less, replace the original audio-navigation unit ('07-09 models) Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation or audio-navigation unit ('10 model) Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.�
- Without navigation: Substitute a known-good audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck. If there is now 0.5 V or less, replace the original audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation.�

9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

10. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector E (14P) (with navigation) or audio unit connector E (14P) (without navigation) and XM receiver connector A (14P).

11. Check for continuity between XM receiver connector A (14P) and body ground according to the table. Then check for continuity between the same terminals listed in the table and audio-navigation unit connector E (14P) terminal No. 3 (with navigation) or audio unit connector E (14P) terminal No. 3 (without navigation) (the harness shield).









Is there continuity?

YES -

There is a short in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit and the XM receiver. Replace the affected shielded harness.�

NO -

Go to step 12.

12. Check for continuity between XM receiver connector A (14P) and audio-navigation unit connector E (14P) (with navigation) or audio unit connector E (14P) (without navigation) according to the table.









Is there continuity?

YES -

- With navigation: Substitute a known-good XM receiver XM Receiver Removal/Installation, then reconnect all connectors, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original XM receiver XM Receiver Removal/Installation. If symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio-navigation unit ('07-09 models) Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation or audio-navigation unit ('10 model) Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio disc changer Service and Repair If symptom/indication is still present, replace the USB adapter unit (if equipped) USB Adapter Unit Replacement.�
- Without navigation: Substitute a known-good XM receiver XM Receiver Removal/Installation, then reconnect all connectors, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original XM receiver XM Receiver Removal/Installation. If symptom/indication is still present, replace the USB adapter unit (if equipped) USB Adapter Unit Replacement.�

NO -

Replace the affected shield harness between the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit and the XM receiver.�
