REVISION SUMMARY

*Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, the flat rate time was changed because the MVCI updates control modules more efficiently.*

SYMPTOM

The engine feels like it has low power intermittently during acceleration, which may be more noticeable in hot weather.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The PGM-FI software misinterprets sensor inputs and retards the ignition timing.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS.

2.024.007 or later.

Control Module (CM) Update:
Database Update 19-NOV-2010 or later.

NOTE:
To avoid an incorrect repair that would not be covered under warranty, use the software version listed above or a later version.





The updated PGM-FI software program IDs and P/Ns are shown. If the HDS is loaded with the latest software, and it displays No Update Needed during the update, the software for this service bulletin is already installed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS. Refer to Service Bulletin 01-023, Updating Control Units/Modules.
