Front Door Window Glass Weatherstrip: Service and Repair

Front Door Glass Outer Weatherstrip Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the door or the related parts.

1. Remove these items:

- Power mirror Power Mirror Replacement
- Door panel Service and Repair
- Plastic cover, as needed Service and Repair

2. From inside of the door, slide the clips (A) of the door glass outer weatherstrip (B) to release the hooks (C) from the flanges (D) of the door.





3. Release the front hook (E) and the rear hook (F) from inside of the door, then remove the weatherstrip.

4. Before installing the door glass outer weatherstrip, slide the clips to the released position as in step 2.

5. Install a new weatherstrip in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- The clips should be engaged with flanges (installation points) of the door.
- Push the clips, the front hook, and the rear hook into place securely.
- When reinstalling the door panel, make sure the plastic cover is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.
