Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2707
DTC 2707:
MIC Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the microphone circuit.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
1. Clear the hard error code.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
3. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis items menu Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
4. Check the System Links.
Is the Mic icon red?
YES -
Go to step 7.
NO -
Go to step 5.
5. Select the Mic in the System Links.
6. Check the Mic level by pressing the navigation TALK button on the steering wheel, then say "Testing" in front of the microphone.
Is the microphone level OK?
YES -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
NO -
Replace the navigation microphone Service and Repair.�
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
8. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the microphone 10P connector, and audio-navigation unit connector F (12P).
Are the connections OK?
YES -
Go to step 9.
NO -
Repair poor connections or loose terminals.�
9. Disconnect the microphone 10P connector.
10. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector F (12P).
11. Check for continuity between body ground and audio-navigation unit connector F (12P) terminals No. 2 and No. 8 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 12.
12. Check for continuity between the terminals of audio-navigation unit connector F (12P) according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES -
There is a short in the wires between the audio-navigation unit and the microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 13.
13. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector F (12P) and the microphone 10P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Substitute a known-good microphone Service and Repair, then reconnect all of the connectors and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original microphone Service and Repair. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation).�
NO -
There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
