Immobilizer Control Unit-Receiver Registration
NOTE:
- Do this procedure after replacing the immobilizer control unit-receiver or the steering lock. If this procedure is not done, the engine will not start.
- The HDS is required to register the immobilizer keys to the immobilizer control unit-receiver.
- The ECM/PCM code is required to do the immobilizer control unit-receiver registration. To get the ECM/PCM code, go to the iN, select service, select vehicle information, then select immobilizer code inquiry.
- Only the keys used during the registration procedure will start the vehicle.
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the ECM/PCM. If it does not communicate, troubleshoot the DLC circuit Testing and Inspection.
4. Select IMMOBI from the SYSTEM SELECT MENU, then IMMOBILIZER SETUP.
5. From the Immobilizer MODE MENU screen, select REPLACE IMMOBILIZER RECEIVER/CONTROL UNIT.
6. From the REPLACE IMMOBILIZER RECEIVER/CONTROL UNIT screen, select Begin to Register Keys in the new Immobilizer Receiver/Control Unit, and follow the screen prompts.
