Skylight Frame and Drain Tube Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the interior trim or the body, or tear the seat covers.

1. Remove these items:

- Skylight
- Headliner

2. Disconnect the front drain tubes (A) and the rear drain tubes (B).





3. With an assistant holding the frame (C), remove the bolts, then lower the frame.

4. Carefully remove the frame through the hatch opening.

5. Remove these items:

- Rear side trim panel Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area
- Rear seat belt retractor and seat belt protector

6. Tie a string to the end of the front drain tube, then pull down the tube out of the C-pillar.

7. Remove the drain valve (A) from the body, then disconnect the front drain tube (B) and the rear drain tube (C).





8. Detach the clips (D) securing the rear drain tube, then pull out the tube.

9. Install the frame and the drain tubes in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Before installing the frame, clear the drain tubes and the drain valves using compressed air.
- Route the drain tubes behind the side curtain airbag tether straps.
- When reinstalling the front drain tube, tie the string left in the body during removal to the top end of the new drain tube, and pull up it into the roof.
- Check the frame seals.
- Clean the surface of the frame.
- When connecting the drain tubes, slide them over the frame nozzles at least 10 mm (0.39 in).
- Install the tube clips (A) on the drain tubes (B) as shown.





10. Check for water leaks. Let the water run freely from a hose without a nozzle. Do not use a high-pressure water.
