Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - Audio remote switch does not work properly

Audio remote switch does not work properly (without navigation)

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Check the audio unit operation.

Is the audio unit operation OK?

YES -

Go to step 2.

NO -

Replace the audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation).�

2. Do the Audio Remote Switch Test:
- '09-11 models Service and Repair

Is the audio remote switch OK?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Replace the audio remote switch; '07-08 models, '09-11 models Service and Repair.�

3. Remove the audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation).

4. Measure the resistance between audio unit connector A (20P) terminals No. 3 and No. 14 as specified in the table.

Is the resistance OK?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the circuit between the audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel Service and Repair.�

5. Check for continuity between body ground and audio unit connector A (20P) terminals No. 3 and No. 14 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the circuit between audio unit and the audio remote switch. If the wires are OK, replace the cable reel Service and Repair.�

NO -

Replace the audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation).�
