Hood Opener Cable Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the hood opener cable.

1. Remove these items:

- Front grille cover Front Grille Cover Replacement
- Front inner fender, driver's side: '07-08 models, '09-11 models Service and Repair
- Kick panel, driver's side

2. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) Service and Repair, and remove the bolts, then remove the hood release handle (C).





3. Detach the clips with a clip remover. Remove the grommet (D) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle.

4. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Make sure the hood opens properly and locks securely.
