Sun Visor: Service and Repair
Sunvisor Removal/Installation
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the headliner.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Remove the sunvisor cap (A).
1. Release the tabs (B) on both sides of the cap from the bracket (C) with a flat-tip screwdriver.
2. Turn the cap, then release it.
2. Release the sunvisor (A) from the holder (B), and remove the TORX screws with a TORX T25 bit, then remove the sunvisor.
3. Push in the hook (A) with a flat-tip screwdriver, and turn the holder (B) 90 °, then pull it out.
4. Install the sunvisor in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the side curtain airbag has deployed, replace the sunvisor, along with the other parts listed for side curtain airbag deployment Service and Repair.
- If the side curtain airbag has not deployed, inspect the sunvisor for damage. A damaged sunvisor may cause the side curtain airbags to deploy improperly, possibly causing injury. Replace the sunvisor if it has any of the following damage:
- Any cracks in the sunvisor stay base (A)
- Any bends or cracks in the sunvisor stay shaft (B)
- Any cracks in the sunvisor base (C)
