Rear Quarter Panel Cladding Replacement
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Remove the fuel fill door Service and Repair.
2. '07-08 models: From the rear wheel arch, remove the screws and detach the clips.
3. '09-11 models: Remove the rear wheel arch protector .
4. Open the tailgate, then remove the bolts.
5. Open the rear door. Detach the clip (A), and pull out on the rear door hinge lower cover (B) to release it from the clips (C).
6. Detach the remaining clips C from the body with a clip remover.
7. Remove the rear side sill panel .
8. Close the rear door half-way. Pull out the rear quarter panel cladding (A) to detach the clips.
9. Pull up the rear quarter panel cladding (A) to release the hooks (B) from the body, then remove the cladding.
10. Slide the plate (A) forward and remove it. The side clips will stay in the body.
11. Detach the side clips from the body with a clip remover.
12. If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
13. Install the side clips on the plate (A).
14. Attach the plate (A) to the rear quarter panel cladding (B) by aligning the hooks (C) with the holes (D) on the cladding, then slide the plate until the hooks engage securely.
15. Open the rear door half-way, and install the front of the rear quarter panel cladding (A). Fit all the clips (B, C) into the holes in the body, then push on the cladding until the clips snap into place.
16. Install the clips you detached in step 6 on the rear door hinge lower cover.
17. Hold up the rear door hinge lower cover (A), and fit the clips (B) into the holes in the body, then push on the cover until the clips snap into place. Install the clip (C).
18. Reinstall all remaining removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
