Engine Oil Pan Installation
Special Tools Required
- Universal Lifting Eyelet 07AAK-SNAA120
- Engine Hanger Adapter VSB02C000015
- Engine Support Hanger, A and Reds AAR-T1256
- Subframe Adapter VSB02C000016

1. Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the oil pan mating surfaces, the bolts, and the bolt holes.
2. Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.
3. Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08717-0004, 08718-0003, or 08718-0009 to the engine block mating surface of the oil pan and to the inside edge of the threaded bolt holes. Install the component within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket.
NOTE:
- Apply a 2.5 mm (0.098 in) diameter bead of liquid gasket along the broken line (A).
- If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply new liquid gasket.
4. Install the oil pan on the engine block.
5. Tighten the bolts/nuts in three steps. In the final step, torque all bolts, in sequence, to 12 Nm (1.2 kg-m,8.7 lb-ft). Wipe off the excess liquid gasket from the crankshaft pulley end and the flywheel/drive plate end.
NOTE:
- Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
- Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the oil pan.
6. M/T model: Install the clutch cover.
7. If the engine is still in the vehicle, install the front subframe.
1. Support the front subframe with the subframe adapter and a jack, and lift it up to the body.
2. Loosely install the new front subframe mounting bolts.
3. Align the reference marks with the center of the front subframe mounting bolts, then tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
4. A/T model: Install the ATF filter mounting bolt.
5. Remove the engine support hanger from the vehicle.
6. Tighten the front engine mount mounting bolt.
7. Tighten the rear engine mount mounting bolts.
8. Loosen the side engine mount bracket mounting bolt and nut, then retighten them to the specified torque.
9. Loosen the transmission mount bracket support bolt and nuts, then retighten them to the specified torque.
10. Connect the suspension knuckle ball joints Front Lower Arm Replacement.
11. Connect the stabilizer links Front Stabilizer Link Removal/Installation.
8. After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
