Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Replacement
Removal
NOTE: Removal of the front passenger's weight sensors must be done according to precautions and procedures Service and Repair.
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Remove the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.
3. Remove the front passenger's cushion cover/pad Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement.
4. Remove the TORX bolts (A, B) attaching the seat track (C) to the front passenger's weight sensors (D) using a TORX bit.
5. Disconnect the ODS unit harness connectors (E) from the front passenger's weight sensor connectors, then remove the front passenger's weight sensors.
Installation
NOTE:
- Be sure to install the harness wires so they are not pinched or interfere with other parts.
- Make sure both of the hooks (A) on the seat track are properly secured to the front bracket (B). If the hooks are not properly secured, the front passenger's weight sensors will not perform properly.
1. Install the front passenger's weight sensors (C) with the new tamper-resistant TORX bolts (D, E) under the seat track, using a TORX bit.
2. Connect the ODS unit harness connectors (F) to the front passenger's weight sensor connectors.
3. Reinstall the front passenger's seat cushion cover/pad Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement.
4. Reinstall the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.
5. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
6. Clear any DTCs.
7. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization.
8. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
