Wind Whistling From Front Door Pillar
SYMPTOM
There is a whistling noise from either the left or right A-pillar area.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The door glass outer weatherstrip was improperly installed.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the door glass outer weatherstrip clip(s).

DIAGNOSIS
1. Test-drive the vehicle to confirm the whistle.
2. Using 2-inch wide masking tape, tape over the door glass outer weatherstrip from just behind the mirror to the rear edge of the glass.
3. Test-drive the vehicle again. Does the whistle go away?
Yes - Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
No - This service bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Lower the door glass fully.
2. Carefully pull out the mirror mount cover to detach the clip, then lift the cover to release the hooks, and remove the cover.
3. Disconnect the mirror connector.
4. While holding the mirror, remove its mounting nuts.
5. Release the hook, then remove the mirror.
6. Starting at the front, roll the weatherstrip to the outside of the door glass, then pull it up to to detach the clips, then release the weatherstrip from the glass run channel, and remove the weatherstrip.
7. Inspect the molding for any deformed clips that could be holding the molding away from the door.
8. Replace any damaged clips:
^ Slide the damaged clip off the end of the molding.
^ Position the new clip in its proper place on the molding.
^ Push the clip straight into the molding until you hear it click.
9. Position the molding over the door, and make sure the clips are aligned with the metal tabs on the inside of the door. Slide the clips as needed to correct the alignment.
10. Reinstall the door glass outer weatherstrip by pushing it straight down to secure it to the door.
11. Reinstall the power mirror and the mirror mount cover.
