DTC B1359:

Power Tailgate Control Unit Lost Communication With Gauge Control Module (A/T Message)

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1359 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Intermittent failure. The power tailgate system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the power tailgate control unit connector and at the gauge control module connector.�

4. Check for the DTCs with the HDS.

Are DTCs B1008, B1061, B1808, B1956, B2011, and B2061 also indicated?

YES -

Go to the gauge control module input test Gauge Control Module Input Test.�

NO -

Go to the power tailgate control unit input test Power Tailgate Control Unit Input Test.�
