DTC Troubleshooting: B2031

DTC B2031:

Left Power Slide Motor Pulse (SLSE1) Signal Error

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

2. Turn the power sliding door main switch OFF and close the left power sliding door from the fully-opened position.

3. Turn the power sliding door main switch ON.

4. Open the left power sliding door with the left power sliding door switch.

5. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Are DTCs B2031 and/or B2032 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the power sliding door system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the left power sliding door control unit connectors, and at the left power slide motor connectors.�

7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is only DTC B2031 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 8.

NO -

Go to step 18.

8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

9. Disconnect left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P).

10. Disconnect left power slide motor connector B (6P).

11. Check for continuity between left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminal No. 16 and left power slide motor connector B (6P) terminal No. 4.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 12.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire.�

12. Check for continuity between left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminal No. 16 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to ground in the wire.�

NO -

Go to step 13.

13. Reconnect left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P).

14. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

15. Measure the voltage between left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminals No. 16 (+) and No. 20 (-).





Is there about 5 V?

YES -

Go to step 16.

NO -

Replace the left power sliding door control unit.�

16. Reconnect left power slide motor connector B (6P).

17. While sliding the door slowly, measure the voltage between left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminals No. 16 (+) and No. 20 (-).





Does it alternate between about 0 V and 5 V? NOTE: Digital voltmeter will read about 2.5 V.

YES -

Replace the left power sliding door control unit.�

NO -

Replace the left power slide motor assembly.�

18. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

19. Disconnect left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P).

20. Disconnect left power slide motor connector B (6P).

21. Check for continuity between left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminal No. 13 and left power slide motor connector B (6P) terminal No. 3.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 22.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire.�

22. Check for continuity between left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminal No. 20 and left power slide motor connector B (6P) terminal No. 6.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 23.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire.�

23. Reconnect left power sliding door control unit connector A (22P).

24. Reconnect left power slide motor connector B (6P).

25. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

26. Measure the voltage between left power slide motor connector B (6P) terminals No. 3 (+) and No. 6 (-).





Is there about battery voltage?

YES -

Replace the left power slide motor assembly.�

NO -

Replace the left power sliding door control unit.�
