DTC Troubleshooting: B2088
DTC B2088:
Right Power Sliding Door Base Position Switch Circuit Open/Short
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
3. Turn the power sliding door main switch ON.
4. Open and close the right power sliding door three times with the right power sliding door switch.
5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2088 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 6.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the power sliding door system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the right power sliding door control unit connectors, and at the right power sliding door rear latch assembly connectors.�
6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
7. Disconnect the 6P connector from the right power sliding door rear latch assembly.
8. Open the right power sliding door to the half-latched position.
9. Check for continuity between right power sliding door rear latch assembly 6P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 6.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Replace the right power sliding door rear latch assembly.�
NO -
Go to step 10.
10. Disconnect right power sliding door control unit connector B (12P).
11. Check for continuity between right power sliding door control unit connector B (12P) terminal No. 5 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire.�
NO -
Go to step 12.
12. Disconnect right power sliding door control unit connector A (22P).
13. Reconnect the connector to the right closer motor assembly.
14. Check for continuity between right power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminal No. 19 and right power sliding door control unit connector B (12P) terminal No. 5.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 15.
NO -
Repair an open in the wire.�
15. Reconnect all connectors to the right power sliding door control unit.
16. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
17. Measure the voltage between right power sliding door control unit connector A (22P) terminal No. 19 and right power sliding door control unit connector B (12P) terminal No. 5.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Replace the right power sliding door rear latch assembly.�
NO -
Replace the right power sliding door control unit.�
