SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 56-22, 56-23

DTC 56-22, 56-23:

Undefined Data Received From the PCM (PGM-FI system)

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures Service and Repair and General Troubleshooting Information Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and see if the MIL come on.

Does the MIL come on?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Go to the PGM-FI System troubleshooting MIL Circuit Troubleshooting.�

3. Clear the DTC memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and wait for 10 seconds.

5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II) and wait for 10 seconds.

6. Read the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Does the SRS indicator stay on, and is DTC 56-22 or 56-23 indicated?

YES -

Replace the PCM Service and Repair, then clear the DTC.�

NO -

Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.�
