Immobilizer indicator does not go off

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Connect the HDS to the data link connector.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and follow the prompts to the MAIN MENU.

4. From the main menu, enter IMMOBI, select IMMOBILIZER SET UP, then select System Check, Number of Keys, and Status Log.

5. Do the SYSTEM CHECK with the HDS.

Is N-1 OK indicated?

YES -

Check the BLU/ORN wire between immobilizer control unit-receiver (7P) connector terminal No. 5 and gauge control module connector A (30P) terminal No. 16 for a short to ground. If the check is OK, substitute a known-good gauge control module.�

NO -

Substitute a known-good immobilizer control unit-receiver, then register it and recheck. If the symptom goes away, replace the original immobilizer control unit-receiver.�
