Navigation System Symptom Troubleshooting - Time is not correct

Time is not correct

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Testing and Inspection.
- Make sure that the correct DVD color and version are installed.
- Check any official Honda service website for more service information and software updates for the navigation system.
- For problems with the rearview camera, do the rearview camera does not come on or work properly troubleshooting.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Before troubleshooting, make sure you have the navigation and audio system anti-theft codes.
- Before troubleshooting, write down all the audio presets and re-enter them after repairs are complete.
- Verify the concern and compare the system operation to a known-good vehicle with the same software loaded whenever possible. If the concern is duplicated in the known-good vehicle, then it can be considered a characteristic of the system.

1. Check any official Honda service website for any service information about the navigation system and the clock.

Are there any software patches or service information related to the clock?

YES -

Apply the patch or information as directed and recheck.�

NO -

Go to step 2.

2. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view to the horizon.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

4. Press OK on the navigation disclaimer screen.

5. Compare the time displayed on the LCD clock against another reliable source like a cell phone or a known-good vehicle.

Is the time displayed on the LCD clock the same as the known-good source?

YES -

The system is OK at this time.�

NO -

Go to step 6.

6. Use the navigation system hard button and touch screen buttons.

Does the navigation system respond normally to inputs from the hard button and touch screen?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Refer to symptom troubleshooting for Navigation display buttons do not work or respond properly.�

7. Check the clock settings in CLOCK ADJUSTMENT of the navigation set-up screen (See navigation users guide for more details).

Are the settings correct for your region (time zone) and time of the year (DST: Daylight Savings Time)?

YES -

Go to step 8.

NO -

Correct the settings, and recheck.�

8. Check the time displayed on the Clock Adjustment screen.

Is the time displayed on the Clock Adjustment screen the same as the known-good source?

YES -

The system is OK at this time.�

NO -

Go to step 9.

9. Check the time displayed on the Clock Adjustment screen to the LCD clock.

Is the time displayed on the Clock Adjustment screen the same as the time displayed on the LCD clock?

YES -

- '05-07 models: The system is OK at this time.
- '08-10 models: Go to step 10.

NO -

Substitute a known-good navigation unit Service and Repair, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the navigation unit. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the navigation display Service and Repair.�

10. Check the time displayed on the Clock Adjustment screen to the LCD clock (Do not select OK on the disclaimer screen. Wait 30 seconds for the screen to change).

Is the time displayed on the Clock Adjustment screen the same as the LCD clock?

YES -

The system is OK at this time

NO -

Replace the navigation unit Service and Repair.�
