Center Sliding Door Rail: Service and Repair
Sliding Door Center Rail Replacement
NOTE:
- - - Use seat covers to avoid damaging any surfaces.
- Take care not to scratch the body.
- - Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1. Remove these items:
- Sliding door Sliding Door Removal/Installation
- - Second row seat belt retractor Second Row Seat Belt Replacement
- Taillight Service and Repair
- Rear blower unit (right side only) Rear Blower Motor Replacement
2. Manual sliding door: Remove the center roller from the center rail.
3. Power sliding door: Remove the speaker Service and Repair.
4. Power sliding door: Remove the plastic cover Service and Repair.
5. Power sliding door right side: Remove the blower unit cover Service and Repair.
6. Power sliding door: Detach the cable clips. Pull up the stoppers, and push the cables toward the motor. Service and Repair
7. Power sliding door: Pull up the stoppers farther up to hold the cables in place. Service and Repair
8. Remove the bolt (A) and the screw (B), then slide the center rail cover (C) and remove it.
9. Power sliding door: Release the power sliding door motor unit cable from the center rail Service and Repair.
10. Power sliding door: Remove the center roller Service and Repair.
11. Power sliding door: Disconnect the power sliding door motor unit cable from the center roller Service and Repair.
12. Remove the screws. Detach the clips, then remove the center rail cover spacer (A).
13. Remove the nuts from inside the vehicle.
14. Remove the center rail (A).
15. Clean the groove area of the center rail (A). With power sliding door, apply multipurpose grease to the corner area of the sliding door, as shown.
16. Install the center rail in the reverse order of removal, and if the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
