Power Tailgate Outer Handle Switch Test/Replacement

1. Remove the tailgate trim panel .

2. Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the power tailgate outer handle switch (B).





3. Check for continuity between tailgate outer handle switch 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2.

- There should be continuity when the tailgate outer handle is pulled.
- There should be no continuity when the tailgate outer handle is released.

4. If the continuity check is not as specified, remove the two nuts, then remove the tailgate trim , and the switch.
