VSA System Symptom Troubleshooting - VSA activation indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored

VSA activation indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Check the VSA activation indicator for several seconds when the ignition switch is turned to ON (II).

Does the indicator come on then go off?

YES -

The system is OK at this time.�

NO -

Go to step 3.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Disconnect the VSA OFF switch 6P connector Testing and Inspection.

5. Check the VSA OFF switch Testing and Inspection.

Is the VSA OFF switch OK?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Replace the VSA OFF switch Testing and Inspection.�

6. Disconnect gauge control module connector A (30P) Service and Repair.

7. Check for continuity between VSA OFF switch 6P connector terminal No. 3 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground between the gauge control module and the VSA OFF switch.�

NO -

Substitute a known-good gauge control module, then go to step 1 and recheck. If it is OK, replace the original gauge control module Service and Repair.�
