Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair

Radiator and A/C Condenser Fan, Motor, and Shroud Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Do the battery removal procedure Removal and Replacement.

2. '07 model: Remove the front grille cover.

3. '08-10 models: Remove the front bumper Front Bumper.

4. Disconnect the breather pipe, then remove the intake air duct Intake Manifold Removal/Installation.

5. Remove the battery base Engine Removal.

6. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (A) and the fan motor connectors (B).





7. With security system: Disconnect the hood switch connector (C).

8. J35A6 engine: Disconnect the engine mount control solenoid valve connector (A) and the vacuum hoses (B).





9. J35A6 engine: Remove the ground cable (C) and the harness clamp (D).

10. Remove the two bolts securing the coolant reservoir, then remove the coolant reservoir.

11. Remove the two bolts (A), and loosen the bolt (B) securing the radiator fan shroud, then remove the radiator fan shroud assembly (C).





12. Remove the two bolts (D), and loosen the two bolts (E) securing the A/C condenser fan shroud, then remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (F) from the battery side.

13. Disassemble the fan shrouds.






Installation

1. Assemble the fan shrouds.






2. Install the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (A) from the battery side, then install the two bolts (B), and tighten the two bolts (C).





3. Install the radiator fan shroud assembly (D), then install the two bolts (E), and tighten the bolt (F).

4. J35A6 engine: Install the ground cable (A) and the harness clamp (B).





5. J35A6 engine: Connect the engine mount control solenoid valve connector (C) and the vacuum hoses (D).

6. Connect the A/C compressor clutch connector (A) and the fan motor connectors (B).





7. With security system: Connect the hood switch connector (C).

8. Install the battery base Engine Installation.

9. Install the intake air duct, then connect the breather pipe Intake Manifold Removal/Installation.

10. '07 model: Install the front grille cover.

11. '08-10 models: Install the front bumper Front Bumper.

12. Do the battery installation procedure Removal and Replacement.
