Alternator Removal and Installation

Removal- '08-10 models

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures.

2. Remove the engine cover Engine Removal.

3. Remove the front grille cover Front Grille Cover Replacement.

4. Remove the drive belt:

- J35A6 engine Drive Belt Replacement (J35A6)
- J35A7 engine Drive Belt Replacement (J35A7 Engine)

5. Disconnect the alternator connector (A) and the positive alternator cable (B) from the alternator.





6. Remove the harness clamp (C) from the alternator, then disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (D) from the A/C compressor.

7. Remove the bolt (E) securing the harness bracket.

8. Remove the bolt (A), then disconnect the A/C suction line bracket (B) and the A/C receiver line bracket (C).






9. Remove the power steering (P/S) fluid reservoir (A) from the bracket.





10. Remove the harness clamp (B).

11. Remove the washer reservoir Service and Repair.

12. Remove the mounting bolt (A) and the alternator bracket mounting bolt (B), then remove the alternator.






Installation - '08-10 models

1. Install the alternator, then tighten the mounting bolt (A) and the alternator bracket mounting bolt (B).





2. Install the washer reservoir Service and Repair.

3. Install the harness clamp (A).





4. Install the P/S fluid reservoir (B) to the bracket.

5. Install the A/C suction line bracket (A) and the A/C receiver line bracket (B).






6. Connect the alternator connector (A) and the positive alternator cable (B) to the alternator. Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the alternator when you connect it.





7. Install the harness clamp (C) to the alternator, then connect the A/C compressor clutch connector (D) to the A/C compressor.

8. Install the bolt (E) securing the harness bracket.

9. Install the drive belt:

- J35A6 engine Drive Belt Replacement (J35A6)
- J35A7 engine Drive Belt Replacement (J35A7 Engine)

10. Install the front grille cover Front Grille Cover Replacement.

11. Install the engine cover Engine Installation.

12. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Procedures.
