Starter Removal and Installation

Removal - '08-10 models J35A7 engine

1. Do the battery removal procedure Removal and Replacement.

2. Remove the intake air duct Engine Removal.

3. Remove the harness clamp (A), the harness clamp bracket (B), and the dip stick (C).





4. Disconnect the positive starter cable (D) and the S terminal connector (E).

5. Remove the two bolts holding the starter, then remove the starter.






Installation - '08-10 models J35A7 engine

1. Install the starter (A), then tighten the mounting bolts.

NOTE: Always use a new gasket (B).






2. Install the harness clamp bracket (A), the harness clamp (B), and the dip stick (C).





3. Connect the positive starter cable (D) and the S terminal connector (E). Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the starter when you connect it.

4. Install the intake air duct Engine Installation.

5. Do the battery installation procedure Removal and Replacement.

6. Start the engine to make sure the starter works properly.
