Check the rack guide adjustment Adjustments.

Check the drive belt: J35A6 engine Drive Belt Inspection (J35A6), J35A7 engine Drive Belt Inspection (J35A7 Engine).

Check for low or erratic engine idle speed Testing and Inspection.

Check for air in the power steering system due to air entering the inlet side of the pump.

Check for low fluid level in the power steering reservoir due to possible leaks in the system Service and Repair.

Overhaul the steering gearbox Overhaul.
