DTC Troubleshooting: B1036
DTC B1036:
IG1 Power Supply Circuit Malfunction
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.
4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1036 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 5.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections at the under-dash fuse/relay box connector D (2P). If the connections are good, check the battery condition Testing and Inspection and the charging system.�
5. Measure the voltage between gauge control module 32P connector terminals No. 32 and No. 13.
Is there battery voltage?
YES -
Faulty MICU. Substitute a known-good under-dash fuse/relay box Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal And Installation and recheck.�
NO -
Check the No. 10 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box. If the fuse is OK, check for open in the BLK wire or a poor connection at G401, or an open in the wire between the under-dash fuse/relay box and the gauge control module. If the fuse is blown, repair a short in the wire between the under-dash fuse/relay box and the gauge control module or the power tailgate control unit.�
